Cross-border civil and commercial disputes
We represent clients in disputes where the parties, assets, contracts or evidence are connected with more than one country. We assess jurisdiction, applicable law, service of documents, evidence and the practical prospects of enforcing a future judgment.
Arbitration
We advise on arbitration agreements, referral of disputes to arbitration, representation in arbitral proceedings and court proceedings connected with arbitration. Strategy is shaped by the contract, seat of arbitration, applicable rules and the jurisdiction where an award may need to be enforced.
Multi-jurisdiction coordination
Where foreign-law expertise is required, we coordinate with lawyers, tax advisers and other professionals in the relevant jurisdiction while remaining the client’s coordinating point of contact in Lithuania.
Recognition and enforcement
Before proceedings begin, we consider where the counterparty’s assets are located and how a future court judgment or arbitral award may be recognised and enforced in Lithuania or abroad.
Related practice – international business structuring
Where the matter concerns company formation, holdings, business separation or cross-border corporate structuring rather than a dispute, see our Business Law practice.
